Waste clearance for facilities managers, one job at a time

Rubbish Removals Ltd carries out waste clearances for facilities managers. We take on the jobs that fall outside a building's regular bin collections: waste that is too big, too much or in the wrong place. You send a photo, we quote, and a team comes to collect, carry and load. Each job is a one-off with no contract, and repeat visits can be booked as and when needed.

The outdoor trouble spots are easy to list. A bin store fills with dumped furniture and split bags until the bins cannot be reached, which calls for a bin store clearance. Someone tips a load in the car park or service yard overnight. That needs fly-tipping clearance, because landowners are usually responsible for clearing waste dumped on private land. Deliveries and fit-outs leave more boxes than the recycling bins hold, and cardboard collection takes the surplus.

Inside the building, the work is mostly about getting space back. A tenant moves out and leaves desks behind. A department changes floors and the old furniture has nowhere to go. Plant rooms and basement stores collect broken chairs, old signage and pallets until they block the people who need to get in. An office clearance deals with furniture and equipment on any scale, from one storeroom to a full floor.

As the person arranging the collection, you need to be able to show the waste went to a licensed carrier. Every business has a duty of care on this, and businesses must keep their waste transfer notes. We hold upper tier waste carrier licence CBDU526130 and give you a note and an invoice for each job. Our guide to the commercial waste duty of care sets out what the duty involves.

How a collection is arranged for a managed site

  1. Photograph the waste

Send photos on WhatsApp to 07935 554 253 with the site address and where on the site the waste is.

  2. Tell us the site rules

Give us the signing-in details, loading bay or lift arrangements and the times collections are allowed.

  3. Price and slot agreed

You get a clear price and a collection time, same-day or next-day wherever possible.

  4. Collected and documented

The team loads the waste and sweeps the area. You receive the invoice and waste transfer note for that job.

Site rules, access and marking what is waste

Managed buildings have rules, and we would rather hear them before the van arrives. Tell us about signing in, loading bay bookings, lift use, height limits on car parks and any hours when contractors cannot work. Tell us your site rules and the times that suit and we will fit the collection around them wherever possible. Nobody needs to be on site if access is arranged, though clear photos of exactly what is going become more important when nobody is there to point.

Be specific about what is and is not waste. In a shared service yard or storeroom, a tenant's stock can sit next to the rubbish, so mark what is going or send a photo with it circled. Lock-ups and off-site stores can be emptied as a storage unit clearance. If one area keeps filling up, a regular commercial waste collection may suit better than repeated one-off calls. For chemicals, gas bottles or anything unusual, send us a photo and we will tell you.

Questions facilities managers ask about rubbish removal

Do we need a contract to use you?

No. Each job is a one-off, quoted and invoiced on its own. If a site needs clearing again later, send another photo, and repeat visits can be booked as and when needed. If you need something set up differently, ask us.

Can you work to our site rules and permitted hours?

Tell us what they are when you ask for the quote, and we will plan the collection around them wherever possible. That includes signing in, using a particular entrance or bay, and avoiding busy periods. If your site requires something specific of contractors, ask us before booking so there are no surprises on the day.

What documents do we get after each collection?

An invoice and a waste transfer note for every job. The note describes the waste and records that it passed to us as a licensed carrier. Our guide on how to check a waste carrier licence shows how to confirm any carrier on the Environment Agency public register.

Does someone have to be on site to meet the team?

Not if access is arranged. Give us directions to the waste, photos of exactly what is going and any sign-in steps. The price is confirmed with you by phone or WhatsApp before loading, so the whole job can be agreed from wherever you are working that day.

Can you quote for several sites at once?

Yes. Send photos and an address for each site and we will quote them together or separately, whichever suits you. Tell us if you need the paperwork kept separate for each address. The order of the visits depends on the size of the loads and where the sites are.

Fly-tipped waste has appeared on our site. What should we do first?

Photograph it where it lies and note when it was found, in case you want to report it to the council. Fly-tipping is a criminal offence. Then send us the photos and we will quote to remove it. Our guide on what to do about fly-tipping on private land goes through the steps. If anything looks hazardous, say so before the team attends.
