Shop waste clearance for stockrooms, refits and closures

Shop waste builds up in the places customers do not see. The stockroom fills with damaged stock, broken display stands and packaging, and the back yard takes what will not fit in the bins. Our shop waste clearance service deals with all of it in one visit. The team carries everything out from the shop floor, stockroom, cellar or yard, loads it and sweeps up, so you can keep serving.

Shops are awkward to clear for practical reasons. The only way out is often through the front door, parking is restricted outside, and nobody wants a trail of rubbish past customers. Tell us whether there is rear access, where a van can stop and when the shop is quietest. Collection is same day or next day wherever possible, which helps when a delivery has left you buried in packaging.

Refits and closures produce a different kind of load: slatwall panels, gondola shelving, counters, signage, mannequins and old tills. The team dismantles fittings where needed. Packaging from new stock is best kept apart, and can be taken through cardboard collection or plastic waste clearance. If there is an office or staff room above the shop, it can be emptied on the same visit as an office clearance.

As a business you have a duty of care to hand your waste only to a licensed carrier and to keep the waste transfer note. Ours is an upper tier licence, CBDU526130, and our guide shows how to check a waste carrier licence for yourself. If you need collections on a regular basis instead of a one-off clear-out, look at commercial waste collection.

How our shop waste clearance works

  1. Show us the waste

Send photos of the stockroom, yard or fittings on WhatsApp and tell us about access and parking.

  2. Price and time agreed

You get a free quote, and we arrange a time that keeps disruption to trading as low as we can.

  3. Point out what stays

On arrival, show the team what is going. Anything you want to keep should be marked or moved aside.

  4. Cleared and swept

We dismantle, carry and load, then sweep the area so the shop can carry on trading.

Before and after: what our shop waste clearance looks like

Before: an empty shop unit with debris and old fittings on the floor Before
After: the same unit swept clear After

Front-door access, parking and clearing during trading

Most high street shops have one door, a narrow pavement and parking restrictions outside. Tell us what the restrictions are and whether there is a rear lane, service yard or loading bay. If everything has to come out through the front, a quiet time of day is easier for everyone. Clearing a path from the stockroom to the door beforehand means the van is not outside longer than it needs to be.

When a lease ends, the landlord normally expects the unit back empty, which can mean taking out fittings you installed as well as the stock. Check your lease or ask the landlord what has to go before you book, and send photos of every area, including the cellar and yard. Overflowing shared bins behind a parade of shops are a separate job, covered by bin store clearance.

Shop waste clearance FAQs

Can you collect while the shop is open?

Yes. Tell us when you are quietest and whether there is a rear entrance, and we will try to arrive then. The team does the carrying, keeps the route clear and sweeps up afterwards, so your staff are not pulled away from customers.

Do you remove shop fittings as well as rubbish?

Yes. Shelving bays, slatwall, counters, rails, signage and display units are all taken, and dismantled where needed. If fittings are fixed to the wall or wired in, such as illuminated signs, send a photo and tell us so we know what is involved before the day.

What can I do with stock I cannot sell?

Damaged, out-of-date or unsold stock can be collected with the rest of your waste. Send a photo and tell us what it is, especially if it includes food, liquids, aerosols, batteries or chemicals, and we will tell you how it needs to be handled.

Do I get a waste transfer note?

Yes, with an invoice. Businesses must keep waste transfer notes, and yours is the record that the waste went to a licensed carrier. Our guide to the commercial waste duty of care explains what the note should show and why it matters.

Can you clear a shop unit at the end of a lease?

Yes. Tell us the handover date and what the landlord expects to be removed. The team clears stock, fittings, the stockroom, any cellar and the yard, then sweeps through. Photos of each area let us quote for the whole unit in one go.

Do you clear waste from food shops, cafes and takeaways?

Yes. Display chillers, counters, packaging and bagged waste are collected from food shops in the same way. Chillers and freezers go to a facility that can treat the refrigerant gases. Kitchens and dining rooms have their own page, restaurant waste removal, which covers catering equipment in more detail.
