Fly tipping clearance for private land and business sites

Fly tipping is a criminal offence, but the person who dumped the waste is rarely the one who ends up dealing with it. Landowners are usually responsible for clearing waste left on private land. So a pile by your gate, on your car park or along your access road becomes your job. We clear it for landowners, landlords, businesses and managing agents.

A dumped load is almost never one thing. Black bags sit on top of a mattress, with rubble sacks and half a ripped-out kitchen underneath. We load all of it by hand, pick up the loose bits that have blown about and sweep the ground afterwards. Dumped waste tends to attract more, so we leave the spot clean. Rubbish left in a shared ginnel is handled as alleyway clearance, and overflow at blocks of flats as bin store clearance.

Send a photo of the pile on WhatsApp and we will quote from it. The price is confirmed before anything is loaded, and we collect same-day or next-day wherever possible. If the waste is strung out along a lane or across a large site, the van stays alongside while the team works through it, much as a wait and load job runs. Managing agents with rubbish in stairwells or shared car parks can add communal area clearance to the visit.

The paperwork matters on this kind of job. We hold upper tier waste carrier licence CBDU526130, every load goes to a licensed facility for sorting, and you get a waste transfer note and an invoice. That is your record that the waste found on your land was passed to a licensed carrier. Our guide on what to do about fly tipping on private land covers the steps to take before you book a clearance.

How our fly tipping clearance works

  1. Photograph the pile

Send a photo on WhatsApp to 07935 554 253. Tell us where the land is and how close a van can get.

  2. Agree the price

We size the load from your photo and confirm a clear price. Nothing goes on the van until you have agreed it.

  3. Loaded by hand

The team loads everything, picks up loose litter and sweeps the ground. You need not be there if the site is open.

  4. Paperwork sent over

The waste goes to a licensed facility for sorting. You get a waste transfer note and an invoice for your records.

Licensed and insured

Collected before it grows

Same-day or next-day collection wherever possible, because a pile that sits for long tends to get added to.

Mixed loads, one visit

Bags, furniture, appliances and rubble go on the same van. You do not need to separate anything first.

Sorted, not dumped again

Dumped loads are taken to licensed facilities and sorted there. About 90% of everything we collect ends up recycled.

What to do before fly tipped waste is cleared

Take photos of the waste where it lies before anything is moved, and note when you found it. You can report fly tipping to your local council even when it is on private land, and the photos support that report and any insurance claim. Avoid digging through the pile yourself. Dumped loads can hide broken glass, sharp metal and containers of unknown liquid.

Tell us about anything in the pile that looks unusual. Gas bottles, paint tins, chemical drums, tyres or sheeting that might contain asbestos need checking first, so send us a photo and we will tell you how it can be handled. Some hazardous materials such as asbestos need a specialist contractor. Once the land is clear, a locked gate, a barrier or better lighting can make a repeat visit less likely.

Fly tipping clearance FAQs

Who is responsible for clearing fly tipping on private land?

Councils generally clear waste dumped on public land. On private land, the landowner or whoever manages the site is usually responsible for arranging and paying for removal. That is why this service is mostly used by landlords, businesses and managing agents.

Should I report fly tipping before having it cleared?

Yes, it is worth doing. You can report it to your local council even when the waste is on your own land, and photos taken before the clearance back up the report. Reporting does not usually mean the council will remove waste from private land, so you can ask us for a quote at the same time.

Can you clear fly tipped waste if I am not on site?

Yes, as long as the team can reach the waste. Send a photo, tell us exactly where it is and let us know about any gate codes or keys. We confirm the price with you by phone or WhatsApp before loading.

How do I know the waste will not be dumped again?

Check the carrier before you hire anyone. Our upper tier licence number is CBDU526130, and you can look it up on the Environment Agency public register. Our guide on how to check a waste carrier licence shows how. You also get a waste transfer note for the load.

What if there is something hazardous in the pile?

Do not move it. Send us a photo of anything you are unsure about, such as gas bottles, drums, paint or sheeting that could contain asbestos, and we will tell you what can be done. Some hazardous materials need a specialist contractor. We can still talk through clearing the rest of the pile.

How is the price for clearing dumped waste worked out?

By load size, the same as any other collection. Guide prices start at £155 and the price guide on this page shows each load size. Heavy waste such as rubble, or a long carry from where the van can park, can affect the price, which we confirm before loading.
