How load size works out on the van
One cubic yard is roughly 10 full bin bags. Bags are easy to count, but furniture and loose items are harder to judge, which is why photos help. Take one wide shot of each pile and a closer one of anything bulky or heavy. We estimate the load from those, then check it against what is in front of us when we arrive.
How waste is presented changes the volume. Flat-packed wardrobes, flattened boxes and stacked doors take a fraction of the room they need when left whole, and drawers can be filled with smaller rubbish. Our team does this while loading. Dense waste is different. Soil, rubble and tiles are heavy for their size, so a van can reach its safe weight before it looks full. Tell us if your load includes any, and roughly how much.
