Shed removal and dismantling in one visit

An old shed rarely comes out in one piece. Our shed removal service covers the whole job: emptying it, stripping the roof, unscrewing or cutting the panels apart, lifting the floor and carrying the lot to the van. You do not need to dismantle anything or find somewhere to stack rotten timber while you wait for a collection.

Sheds usually go because the roof has failed, the floor has rotted or the space is wanted for something else. Often it is one part of a bigger tidy-up, so we can combine it with a garden clearance and take the fence panels, pots, broken furniture and green waste that have gathered around it. If the garage needs emptying too, it can go on the same visit.

Most of a shed is timber, and timber recycles well once the felt, glass and metal are separated from it. We handle it in the same way as any wood waste clearance, with the load going to licensed facilities for sorting. If slabs or broken concrete from the base are going too, tell us, because rubble is heavy and is handled as hardcore waste removal.

Before booking, it is worth weighing up the alternatives. Our guide to garden waste disposal options covers council services and recycling centres. The comparison of skip hire and man and van collection shows why a skip can be awkward for a shed. Panels have to be broken down small to fit, and the dismantling and loading are still left to you.

We collect across Swinton, and you will find us at Rutland St, Swinton, Manchester M27 6AU. To book shed removal in Swinton, fill in the quote form, message us on WhatsApp or call 07935 554 253. For everything else we take, see rubbish removal in Swinton.

How shed removal works

  1. Send photos of the shed

A picture of the outside, the inside and the route to the road is enough for us to quote. WhatsApp is quickest.

  2. Agree the price

We give a guide price by load size and confirm it on site before any work begins, with no hidden fees.

  3. We dismantle and load

The team empties the shed, takes it apart section by section and carries everything out to the van.

  4. Base left swept

Loose fixings and broken glass are picked up, the base is swept and the waste goes to licensed facilities.

Why book us to remove your shed

Dismantling is included

You do not need tools, a helper or a free weekend. We take the shed apart and carry it out.

Contents go too

Rusted tools, old mowers, plant pots and garden furniture can leave on the same load as the shed itself.

Insured for garden work

Public liability insurance up to £5 million covers the work, which matters when panels are being carried past windows and cars.

Timber goes for recycling

Shed timber and metal are separated at licensed facilities, and around 90% of everything we collect is recycled.

Before: a collapsed old shed at the end of a garden Before
After: the same garden with the shed gone After

Access, bases and what to tell us before we arrive

Access decides how long a shed removal takes. A standard panel will travel down most side paths on its edge, but narrow gates, steps and tight turns may mean cutting panels into smaller sections first. If the only way out is through the house, say so when you ask for a quote. We will plan the route, and it helps if the hallway is cleared beforehand.

Check what the shed is sitting on and what is attached to it. If it has power, have the supply disconnected before the day. Tell us about water butts, shelving fixed to a neighbouring wall or a fence the shed is propping up. Timber bearers under the floor come out with the shed. Loose slabs can go on the same visit if you ask.

Shed removal Swinton FAQs

Where are you in Swinton?

Our address is Rutland St, Swinton, Manchester M27 6AU. We come to you to collect, so there is no need to visit. Call 07935 554 253, message us on WhatsApp or use the quote form to book.

Do I need to empty the shed before you arrive?

No. We can clear the contents on the same visit. The contents are priced by load size on top of the shed removal price, and the guide on this page shows what each size typically holds. If you want to keep tools or bikes, move them out beforehand or point them out on the day.

Can you remove a shed if there is no side access?

Usually, yes. Panels can be carried through the house or a garage, or cut down to pass through a narrow gate. Tell us at the quote stage, because carrying through a property takes longer and may affect the price.

Will you take the concrete base or slabs as well?

Loose paving slabs and broken concrete can be collected on the same visit. Rubble is heavy for its size, so it is quoted alongside the shed. For a solid cast base, send a photo with rough measurements and we will advise.

What happens to the old shed timber?

It goes to a licensed facility where wood is separated from felt, glass and metal and sent on for recycling. Shed loads are mostly timber and metal, both of which recycle well. Across all our collections, around 90% is recycled.

What if my shed has a corrugated cement roof?

Some older sheds and outbuildings have corrugated cement roof sheets, and these can contain asbestos. If your roof is a grey, brittle, corrugated sheet and not felt or metal, leave it intact and send us a clear photo so we can advise. Asbestos has to be removed by a specialist contractor.

Is it cheaper if I take the shed down myself?

It can reduce the work on site, since dismantling is one of the things that affects cost. Old sheds often come apart badly, though, with rotten boards, rusted screws and broken glass. If you do it yourself, stack the panels flat near the access point.
