What to sort out before your house clearance
Go through drawers, wardrobes, coat pockets and the backs of cupboards before clearance day. Passports, bank papers, photographs, jewellery and spare keys are the things most often missed. Put what you are keeping in one room, or mark it clearly, and tell the team at the start. If only the large pieces need to go and the rest is staying, a furniture removal visit may be all you need.
Access makes a real difference to how the day goes. Tell us about parking, permit zones, shared drives, lifts and steep or narrow stairs when you ask for a quote. Empty fridges and freezers beforehand if you can. A basement full of old belongings is worth a mention too, because a cellar clearance has its own access problems. For old paint, chemicals or gas bottles, send us a photo and we will tell you what can be done.
